A great value local guest house. I have used this guest house on more than one occasion, the rooms are of a good size and are generally clean. The owners are friendly and helpful, always at the end of the phone if you have any questions.
We enjoyed our short stay here. The room was good and clean. The garden was great our little grandson loved running round and hiding under the willow Tree. A good breakfast as well. Only criticism is that there was no fruit with the breakfast but not a problem. Plenty of parking as well.
Had a bit of difficulty finding this as satnav takes you to a different location. On arrival at 2pm no one there to meet and greet which was strange. Was checked in over the phone. Not a single person around and we were the only guests. The front of the house was in total darkness for the whole of the overnight stay which was a little eerie. Felt uneasy returning in the evening to total darkness bar a side door with light on in a reception come foyer. No main doors work locked over night! Again felt vulnerable. However the rooms were basic but very clean and beds were good too. A lady arrived to cook breakfast and this was very good and well presented. Checked out again with no face to face contact..most odd.
Stayed here for 1 night. Staff were really welcoming and showed us our room and found about the building. We had a patio to sit on and sun ourselves. The village with its pubs and shops is less than 10 mins walk away. Breakfast at the b and b was really nice. Plant of car park space and easy to find. I really recommend Mather house and I would stay there again.
