Had evening meal, starters of ham hock and cheese with picallili, and a goats cheese salad with balsamic - good portions and well balanced flavours. Then fish and chips for me and burger and chips for him - fabulous chips, excellent batter and flaky fish, burger was superb flavour, and most importantly not overcooked - just perfect. Too full for desert. Whenever we come here the standard is consistently very good. Service excellent, lovely cheerful staff, comfortable surroundings.
Great food, good atmosphere reasonably priced
As a last minute venue for a catch up meal with friends following the Christmas festivities, we had an amazing meal in lovely surroundings with very helpful staff. We are delighted to have discovered this gem on our doorstep.
The Bear has converted me to eating Christmas dinner 'out' . Great food, you will not go hungry. Fantastic service and a management team that really care about their customers.
Food is excellent, staff very good. Great selection of beers, lively and comfortable atmosphere, no need to dress up here, very casual dining.
